Prototype boards and production boards are different products.

The Challenge
A prototype PCB is a board built to answer a question. A production PCB is a controlled design a fabricator and an assembler can repeat: named materials, a stack-up, a finish, a panel, fiducials, test access, and a revision that matches the bill of materials. The plots can look alike. The contract, the tolerances and the evidence do not.
Sending the prototype files to a production fabricator without rewriting the notes does not promote the board. It asks a factory to repeat choices the prototype shop was free to make on the day. Every figure below is hypothetical teaching maths. None of it is a fabricator quote or a BrahmWorks result.

Description
This Insights guide explains Prototype vs Production PCB for founders and engineering teams building hardware that must be manufactured, tested, and handed off. Sending the prototype files to a production fabricator without rewriting the notes does not promote the board. It asks a factory to repeat choices the prototype shop was free to make on the day. It also covers what the prototype shop was free to decide; what has to be named before a production order; test, inspection, and the first article.

The Outcome
The question this revision is allowed to answer is written, and so is the question it must not. Material, copper weights and thickness are named well enough for a second shop. Either the stack and impedance targets are specified with a measurement, or impedance is explicitly not required.
